Car Rental Terms
We offer short-term and long-term rental of passenger and utility vehicles.
Short-term rental – 1–29 days (1 day = 24 hours)
Long-term rental – 30 days and more

Documents required for entering into the rental contract
Natural person:
- ID card or passport;
- valid driving licence, class B;
- phone number and e-mail.
Legal entities:
- ID card and driving licence,
- if the vehicle is collected by a person other than the person indicated in the extract from the business register or in the trade licence, this person must have a power of attorney authorising them to sign the contract and collect the vehicle;
- POWER OF ATTORNEY to download,
valid for legal entities for single use; - phone number and e-mail.
Payment Terms
You can pay by cash, credit or debit card, or by invoice at our car rental. The payment depends on the length of your rental period.
Short-term rental
In the case of a short-term rental, you can pay by cash or by debit/credit card, either in advance or at the end of the rental period when returning the vehicle. For clients in a contractual relationship, we issue an invoice within 15 days of the end of the rental and collection of the vehicle, and we will withdraw the rental amount from their pre-paid deposit.
Long-term rental
In the case of a long-term rental, payment is requested in advance, on the date when the vehicle is handed over to the lessee, until the end of the calendar month and, if applicable, for the whole of the following calendar month. Every subsequent payment is due in advance on the first day of the calendar month.
Deposit
- Deposit = deposit for the rented vehicle, paid upon its rental together with the rental fee.
- The amount of the deposit depends on the vehicle category.
- The deposit also covers the agreed excess of the lessee in the case of a harmful event in the amount of 10%, with a minimum of €400 per harmful event or damage. The lessee may choose to reduce the excess to 5%, with a minimum amount of €200. Excess reduction is charged in accordance with the current price list.
- JP-AUTO RENT is not liable for exchange rate differences that may arise on withdrawal and return of the deposit.
- The lessor usually returns the unused deposit to the lessee within 30 days of the termination of the rental agreement.
- The lessor is also obliged to inform the lessee of any use of the deposit to settle its claims against the lessee, and of the reasons for such additional settlement.
Rental Prices
All prices associated with the vehicle rental are listed in the vehicle offer and price list and are always valid and binding.
Vehicle rental prices are listed next to the specific vehicle categories in the Vehicle Fleet section.
The rental price includes:
- road tax;
- statutory insurance;
- accident insurance with an excess of 10%, min. €400;
- Slovak vignette;
- assistance services in the case of breakdown or accident;
- seasonal tire changeover;
- regular vehicle maintenance prescribed by the manufacturer;
- replacement vehicle in the case of an accident (inoperable vehicle) where the driver of the rented vehicle/lessee is not at fault.
Vehicle Delivery and Collection
- Vehicle delivery/collection within opening hours in our branch office is free of charge.
- Vehicle delivery/collection within the city of the branch office is charged at €15 incl. VAT.
- Vehicle delivery/collection outside the city of the branch office is charged at €1.20/km.
- Vehicle delivery/collection outside office hours is charged at €50 incl. VAT.
Lessee’s Obligations
- The lessee is obliged to use the vehicle in the intended manner, as described in the contract, and take proper care of the vehicle, so that no damage is caused to the vehicle.
- The lessee is obliged to bear all the monetary claims, in particular fines and sanctions incurred by the relevant state or administrative authority against the lessee in connection with the lessee’s breach of duty and the lessee’s strict liability during the operation of the vehicle.
- If leaving the vehicle, the lessee must secure it against opening or theft and damage by the means with which the vehicle is equipped.
- The lessee is obliged to provide the lessor with the names, addresses, ID card numbers and driving licence numbers of all drivers who are instructed by the lessee to operate the vehicle.
- In the event of a harmful event or any damage to the vehicle, the lessee is obliged to duly notify the lessor and the relevant insurance company on the prescribed form and within the statutory time limit.
- The lessee bears full responsibility for any damage caused.
- It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the vehicle, and violation of this prohibition will be sanctioned by a special contractual penalty of €500.
Journey Abroad
- In the case of any journey abroad, the lessee is obliged to inform the lessor of this fact in advance, and the countries that the lessee plans to visit must be duly recorded in the rental contract. When crossing the Slovak border, a fee of €50 is charged (does not include the toll road charges in the foreign countries).
- The lessee is obliged to buy the vignette valid upon crossing the border of a foreign country without delay before entering the given country.
- It is allowed to travel to all countries of the European Union.
- It is not allowed to travel to: Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, countries of the former Yugoslavia (except Croatia, Slovenia), Turkey, Russia, Belarus, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, UK and all countries outside Europe.
Vehicle Return Terms
- The lessee is obliged to return the vehicle to the lessor in due time specified in the contract concluded.
- The lessee is obliged to hand over the vehicle in the same condition in which they received it before the rental.
- The vehicle must be handed over clean and with a full tank.
- In the case of handing over a dirty vehicle, we reserve the right to charge a penalty according to the current price list.
- If the set mileage is exceeded, a fee of €0.40 will be charged for every kilometre above the limit.

After working hours, on weekends and on holidays, we reserve the right to charge the following fees for handing over or taking over the vehicle:
